6/6/11 ** Day 10 Book 11 ** Polacco tells the tale of a kitty, a first year teacher, and the luck that helped the teacher find a spouse. I loved the images of the kitten and Miss Parks' transition from student teaching to her first teaching job. I also appreciated the close bond that Miss Parks clearly formed with her students, inviting them to her home, introducing them to her beloved cat, and gardening with them. I didn't like the implication that Miss Parks' life wasn't complete until she found the perfect husband. Really - we have to get married?
