7/7/11 ** A beautifully written book about the desires of a granddaughter and grandmother. Wild Rose wants to run and play outside and finds many things to do that are more fun than her weaving. Meanwhile, her grandmother is patiently weaving a tapestry. When done, Wild Rose is astonished at the beautiful images in the tapestry and discovers that there can be intrinsic pleasure in weaving. The book comes full circle at the end when the grandmother honors Wild Rose's passion for outside activities.
Parents & teachers of pre-school and primary grade children will enjoy this look at enticing a child into a new activity.
