11/2010 There were a few niggling details that bugged me about this book. The biggest was that there was no discussion of Simon and Clary going to school. This was a non-issue in book one since Clare established that the book was set during summer break. However, in this book there are multiple references to the weather turning colder. I can see that Clary might not be having truant officer issues; she moved to Luke's apartment and her apartment was clearly empty. Most schools would assume she moved and the new school was slow on requesting records. However, Simon doesn't have that excuse!
(Note: this issue is briefly discussed at the end of Book 3 when Clary and Simon are discussing his hopes for a 'normal' life with school and college.)
